Performance Marketing Agency for Belgian Brands
Belgium is three language communities inside one small country, and the most expensive advertising mistake made here is budgeting for it as a single national audience.

Belgium has around eleven and a half million people divided across Dutch-speaking Flanders, French-speaking Wallonia, a small German-speaking community in the east and an officially bilingual Brussels. For an advertiser that is not a translation problem, it is a segmentation problem: the two main communities follow different media, respond to different references, and are cheaper to reach separately than together, because a single national campaign lets the algorithm spend wherever the clicks happen to be easiest that week.
The second structural fact is that Belgians buy abroad more readily than almost any other Europeans. A shopper in Antwerp will order from a Dutch site without a second thought and one in Liège from a French one, so a Belgian brand competes with foreign webshops in its own market from the first day. MADDEX Media holds no Belgian entity or office; we work from India on your accounts, inside Central European hours, and we do not claim otherwise.
A small, wealthy and unusually open consumer market of about eleven and a half million split across Dutch, French and German language communities, where Bancontact dominates domestic card payment, buying from Dutch, French and German webshops is routine, and much of the fulfilment serving the country is operated from outside its borders.
MADDEX Media is based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. We have no office, entity or team in Belgium: Belgium accounts are run remotely from India. We say so here rather than implying a local presence, because a client can check it in a minute and an invented one is worth nothing.
Who we work with here, and what they need
Fashion and concept retail
A strong independent retail culture, particularly around Antwerp, where brand story does more work than discounting and the customer will happily buy from abroad if the local option is dull.
Chocolate, speciality food and drink
Export-led and gift-driven, with sharp seasonal peaks and shipping constraints that make bundle design and average order value the real levers rather than bid strategy.
Home, garden and renovation
Belgians build and renovate at a high rate, which sustains steady search demand for both products and installers, and rewards detailed product content over short-form social.
B2B, chemicals and logistics
The Antwerp port cluster and the pharmaceutical corridor sell to a small, specialist audience, where accurate search capture in two languages beats any quantity of paid reach.
Professional services and clinics
Local demand where the map result and the language of the page decide the enquiry, and where a bilingual site is very often only half-built on the French side.
Cross-border sellers into France and the Netherlands
Many Belgian brands carry more revenue abroad than at home, which calls for separate accounts, separate creative and separate targets rather than one regional campaign.
What Belgium businesses are actually looking for
- Belgian brands unsure whether to split campaigns by language or by region
- Flemish webshops competing with Dutch sites on their own search terms
- Companies needing French creative tested properly rather than translated once
- Businesses selling into France and the Netherlands from a Belgian base
- Teams wanting execution capacity at a lower cost than a Brussels retainer
Which channels tend to work in Belgium
The first decision in a Belgian account is the split: separate campaigns by language with their own budgets and their own creative, so that Flanders cannot quietly absorb the Walloon budget on cheaper clicks. Google Search works well in both languages, and French keyword volumes are shared with France, which means competitors you had not planned for turn up in the auction. Meta reach is affordable, but the audience is small enough that frequency rather than cost per thousand is the number that tells you a creative is finished.
Running a Belgium account from India
Brussels runs four and a half hours behind us in winter and three and a half in summer, so we are at our desks through your morning and early afternoon, working in English, with the Dutch and French lines coming from writers on your side or ones you appoint. We run two sets of reporting, one per language market, because a blended Belgian number hides which half of the budget is doing the work. You own every account and asset with us added as users, fees are invoiced in euro or rupees, and media spend is billed to you directly by Google and Meta.
Meta and Google both allow targeting by language and by region, but the reliable split in Belgium is by language with a separate campaign for each, since interest and postcode targeting alone leak across the linguistic border around Brussels. Bancontact is the default domestic payment method and frequently redirects out of the checkout, so purchase events need confirming server-side rather than from a thank-you page alone. An advertiser without a valid Consent Mode v2 signal has lost access to Google's EEA audience and remarketing lists since March 2024, and in practice the consent notice and the landing page should match the language of the campaign rather than defaulting to English.

Belgium: frequently asked
Do we really need separate Dutch and French campaigns?
Yes, if both communities matter to the business. A single national campaign drifts toward whichever language delivers the cheaper clicks that week, and you end up with a blended result telling you nothing about either market. Separate campaigns cost slightly more to run and give you two readable sets of numbers. We handle the structure, budgets and testing, and the Dutch and French copy needs a native writer for each.
Our competitors are Dutch and French webshops rather than Belgian ones. Does that change the approach?
It changes the benchmark, not the method. You are bidding against advertisers optimised for larger home markets with lower cost per order, so competing on price alone is a losing position. What works is the things a foreign shop handles badly here: local delivery expectations, returns without a cross-border posting, service in the customer's own language, and a checkout offering the payment methods people actually use.
How does payment and invoicing work with an Indian agency?
We invoice in euro or rupees by bank transfer, Wise or Payoneer, with no Belgian VAT applied. As an overseas supplier to a Belgian business the reverse charge normally applies, and your accountant will confirm that. Management starts at roughly €270 a month for one channel and an audit at about €160, as indicative conversions of our published prices. Ad budget is paid by you directly to the platforms and never routed through us.
How do you handle personal data and GDPR from outside the EU?
We act on your instructions inside your own systems. Customer data stays in your Meta, Google, analytics and email accounts, we do not copy audiences into tools of our own, and any transfer outside the EEA needs a lawful basis your adviser confirms rather than one we assume. If the tracking collects more than your privacy notice describes, we raise it, and we check both language versions of the notice rather than only one.
How quickly do you respond during our working day?
Our team is online through your morning and early afternoon, which is when most decisions get made in any case. Anything raised later is picked up at the start of our next day, which is still overnight for you. Beyond that there is a written review every Monday split by language market, a dashboard you can open at any time, and a call every fortnight. Urgent spend problems are handled the same day rather than at the next meeting.
