Performance Marketing Agency for Dutch Brands
The Netherlands has one of the highest online shopping rates in Europe and one strongly dominant marketplace, so a Dutch webshop is usually fighting bol.com for the same customer.

Almost everyone in the Netherlands shops online, and a great many of them start at bol.com. That single fact shapes most Dutch ecommerce strategy: a webshop bidding on a generic product term is competing against a marketplace the customer already trusts, already holds an account with and can receive a parcel from tomorrow. Pulling traffic to your own domain usually means being more specific, being better known, or selling something the marketplace cannot list well.
We are an Indian team with no Dutch entity, office or number, working inside your accounts during your working day. Dutch clients tend to be direct about cost and about results, which suits the way we run: published starting prices, written weekly reviews and full account access rather than a monthly slide deck. We handle structure, feeds, bidding, creative testing and measurement, and Dutch-language copy comes from a native writer on your side.
One of Europe's most digitally saturated consumer markets, where bol.com and Coolblue take a large share of product discovery, iDEAL handles the majority of online payments, pay-after-delivery is a normal consumer expectation, and next-day delivery through PostNL and DHL is treated as a baseline rather than a selling point.
MADDEX Media is based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. We have no office, entity or team in Netherlands: Netherlands accounts are run remotely from India. We say so here rather than implying a local presence, because a client can check it in a minute and an invented one is worth nothing.
Who we work with here, and what they need
Webshops selling alongside bol.com
The recurring strategic question is what the own domain is actually for. Usually it is repeat purchase, bundles and customer data, and campaigns should be judged on those rather than on matching a marketplace price.
Fashion and lifestyle
Pay-after-delivery is normal here, which lifts conversion and lifts returns in the same movement. Reporting has to net returns off before a campaign can honestly be called profitable.
Consumer electronics and accessories
Coolblue set the expectation for how a product page should read, and most brands lose on the comparison rather than on the advertising. Feed detail and a credible delivery promise carry more weight than creative.
Food, health and supplements
Dutch claim rules and platform policy narrow the messaging from two directions at once, so the angles that survive review are routine, convenience and ingredient transparency rather than any promised outcome.
B2B, logistics and agri-tech
A large export sector around Rotterdam and the Brabant corridor, where the audience is small and the search intent precise, making content and search capture more productive than paid social.
Travel and events
Booked early, compared thoroughly and sharply seasonal, with search demand that has to be met before the consideration window opens rather than halfway through it.
What Netherlands businesses are actually looking for
- Dutch webshops wanting more from their own domain than from the marketplace
- Brands paying a local agency more than they spend on creative production
- Teams whose Google Ads conversions dropped after a consent platform change
- Sellers expanding from the Netherlands into Belgium and Germany
- Companies wanting weekly written reporting instead of a monthly deck
Which channels tend to work in Netherlands
Google Shopping does most of the heavy lifting for Dutch webshops, and feed quality decides how much of it you get, because the comparison happens in the results rather than on your page. Meta is where a brand becomes known well enough that people later search for it by name, which is the only reliable way out of a price fight with a marketplace. Dutch audiences are small and English-tolerant but convert better in Dutch, and the temptation to run one English campaign across the whole of Benelux is where a great deal of budget is quietly lost.
Running a Netherlands account from India
Amsterdam is three and a half to four and a half hours behind India, so our working day covers yours from mid-morning to mid-afternoon and decisions rarely have to wait overnight. Communication is deliberately plain: a written Monday review of what changed and what it cost, a shared dashboard, and a call every two weeks unless something needs one sooner. You keep ownership of the ad accounts, the analytics property, the product feed and the creative files, we work inside them as users, and invoices are raised in euro or rupees while media spend is charged to your own card by the platforms.
iDEAL redirects the shopper out of the checkout and back again, and a thank-you-page-only conversion setup loses orders at exactly that step, so server-side events or the platform purchase webhook are the fix rather than a refinement. Google's remarketing and audience lists in the EEA have depended on a valid Consent Mode v2 signal since March 2024, and the Dutch regulator takes a notably strict line on cookie walls and pre-ticked boxes. Shopify with Klaviyo is common without being universal, with a large number of brands still on Lightspeed, Magento or WooCommerce, so the tracking work is rarely a copy of the last project.

Netherlands: frequently asked
Should our ads be in Dutch or English?
Dutch, for anything aimed at Dutch consumers. Most people here read English comfortably and still convert better in their own language, and the gap widens on the landing page and at checkout where trust matters most. We plan and brief in English and ask you to have the Dutch written or approved by a native speaker. For technical B2B audiences English is often acceptable, but that is worth testing rather than assuming.
Is it worth advertising if most of our sales come through bol.com?
Usually yes, provided you are clear about what you are buying. The marketplace gives you volume and takes the margin, the customer relationship and the data. Advertising to your own shop costs more per first order and hands you the repeat purchase, the email list and the ability to bundle. We report the two separately so the decision rests on numbers rather than on instinct.
Our conversions fell after we changed the consent banner. Can that be fixed?
Usually, and it is among the most common things we find in an audit. The pattern is a consent platform blocking tags without passing the right signals, so Google and Meta stop receiving events they used to model around. The fix is a proper Consent Mode v2 configuration, server-side events for the purchase step, and a reconciliation against your back office so you can see what is real and what is modelled.
How do you invoice a Dutch company?
In euro or rupees, whichever you prefer, with no Dutch VAT charged, since as an Indian supplier of services to a Dutch business the VAT is normally accounted for by you under the reverse charge. Your accountant will confirm the treatment. Single-channel management starts at roughly €270 a month and a site build from about €530, as indicative conversions of our published prices. Ad spend goes straight from you to the platforms.
Can you cover Belgium and Germany too?
Yes, and they should be built as separate markets rather than as an extension of a Dutch campaign. Flanders shares the language but not the shopping behaviour, Wallonia needs French, and Germany has a different marketplace landscape and different return rates. One Benelux campaign on a shared budget usually means the Dutch data drowns out everything else and the smaller markets never get a fair read.
