Website Development Agency — Fast, Crawlable Sites Built to Convert

A website is infrastructure for everything else you spend money on: ads land on it, SEO depends on it, and sales conversations start from it. Built badly, it silently taxes every channel.

Most business websites are built to look finished, not to perform. They ship with render-blocking scripts, unoptimised hero images, a heading structure that makes no sense to a crawler, and no thought given to what the visitor is supposed to do next.

We build the opposite: semantic markup a search engine can parse, images and fonts that do not sabotage Largest Contentful Paint, a layout that works on a mid-range Android phone on a patchy connection, and a page structure where every section has a job in the conversion sequence.

Who this is for

Is this the right fit?

  • Brands whose current site is slow, unresponsive or fails Core Web Vitals
  • Businesses whose site cannot be updated without a developer for every text change
  • Ecommerce brands needing a Shopify build or theme rework
  • Service businesses needing a lead-generation site with real enquiry flow
  • Companies whose site was built with no SEO structure and now cannot rank
Scope

What website development includes

Conversion-led information architecture

Page and section order planned around the questions a buyer asks in sequence, with the primary action reachable from anywhere on the page.

Performance engineering

Image formats and sizing, font loading strategy, lazy loading, script deferral and bundle discipline: targeted at real Core Web Vitals numbers on mobile, not desktop lab scores.

SEO-ready foundations

Semantic HTML, one H1 per page, logical heading hierarchy, descriptive URLs, canonical tags, structured data, XML sitemap and crawlable navigation built in from the start rather than retrofitted.

Responsive and accessible build

Mobile-first layouts, keyboard-navigable interactive elements, sensible focus states, real alt text and colour contrast that holds up.

CMS or platform setup

Shopify, WordPress or a custom build depending on what the business actually needs to edit: chosen for maintainability, not for what is fashionable.

Analytics and tracking

GA4, Search Console, conversion events and ad platform pixels configured and verified at launch, not two months later.

Process

How we run it

  1. Scope and architecture

Sitemap, page inventory, template list and the conversion path for each key journey.

  2. Design

Layouts designed against real copy and real product images. Design that only works with placeholder text does not survive launch.

  3. Build

Semantic, componentised build with performance budgets enforced as we go rather than checked at the end.

  4. Pre-launch QA

Cross-device testing, Core Web Vitals verification, redirect mapping from old URLs, and a full crawl to catch broken links and orphan pages.

  5. Launch and handover

Deploy, submit sitemaps, verify tracking, and hand over documentation so your team can run it.

Deliverables

What you actually get

  • Sitemap, wireframes and page-level content plan
  • Fully responsive, accessible production build
  • Core Web Vitals performance report at launch
  • Structured data, sitemap, robots and canonical setup
  • Redirect map from any previous site
  • Analytics, Search Console and pixel configuration

How pricing works

Quoted per project against a fixed scope: number of templates, whether ecommerce is involved, content migration volume and integration count. We do not price by page count alone, since ten pages sharing one template is a different job from ten bespoke layouts.

Answers

Website Development: frequently asked

Should we use Shopify, WordPress or a custom build?

Shopify for ecommerce in almost every case: the operational tooling, payments and app ecosystem outweigh the platform fee. WordPress when content volume and editorial control matter most. Custom when there is genuine application logic, like a portal with accounts and search. Picking custom for a brochure site adds cost and maintenance for no gain.

How long does a website take to build?

A focused marketing site or landing-page system is typically three to five weeks. A full ecommerce build with content migration is six to ten weeks. A custom portal depends entirely on the feature list. The single biggest cause of overrun is content: copy and product imagery arriving late.

Will a new website hurt our existing rankings?

Only if the migration is done carelessly. The risks are changed URLs without redirects, lost internal links, removed content and newly blocked resources. Handled with a proper redirect map and a pre-launch crawl, rankings usually hold and often improve because the technical foundation is better.

Do you write the copy?

We write conversion copy for landing pages and key commercial pages as part of the build. Long-form content, blog libraries and product descriptions at scale are scoped separately under content marketing.

What makes a website fast enough?

Practically: Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds and Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds on a mid-range mobile device on 4G. Most sites fail on hero images, web fonts and third-party scripts, usually chat widgets and analytics tags nobody audits.

Can you work with our existing developer or theme?

Yes. A lot of the value is often in fixing an existing build rather than replacing it: performance, structure, tracking and conversion flow can all be improved in place when the underlying platform is sound.
